My imperfect perfect whole

When i was younger I simply was never able to fathom why people needed the presence of somebody else in their lives why they needed commitment why they needed to have sex why they felt the need to fall in love why they needed someone who'll hold their hands through the storms of life someone who'll whisper the words "its alright" in a circumstance they cannot salvage I used to think you can be strong... when you're strong you aren't weak if your are not weak you wouldn't need to rely on somebody else you wouldn't need to If you don't rely on another person life can be pretty easy nothing ties you down you just up and go as pleases you You see I was right the only problem with that theory i have to point out is no matter who you are no matter how self-sufficient you may be we were just never meant to be alone i cannot believe I'm saying this truth be told its taken me a while to realize this simple fact we are socia...

What is marriage anyway?

Most times i feel marriage is just a facade, two people joined together for life, sworn to cover each others tracks, bearing all pain, abuse...neglect. Sometimes i think the smarter one's are the one's that leave earlier on. This is a completely new perception stemmed from some very personal experiences in my life. According to court documents, an Arizona father Miller stabbed his wife, Adriana, 28, his 10-year-old daughter, Valeria and 4-year-old son, Brian at their home. Miller told police that when his children woke up to their mother’s screams, he stabbed them, too. Adriana and Valeria died, but the 4-year-old survived despite being stabbed 11 times. Miller said he punched Brian in the face and stabbed him the most “because he loved him the most.” (Hmmm... the most efficient and productive way of displaying affection!!!) The man told authorities that he sang Eminem's lyrics, "Here comes Satan. I'm the anti-Christ. I'm going to kill you," as he s...

Is That Really Who You Are??

Although our transit through the cobblestones of life may be short its richness can be determined by the courage we purport by the underlying strength we possess most times this strength of character is trampled nonetheless by individuals that have made themselves adjudicators of our lives they scrutinize our every step awaiting any moment of weakness no matter how paltry it may seem if you were to discern that these were people who hated their lot in life people who felt small and insignificant people life has cheated upon people who feel cheated by life people who have no one to love and care for them people that have never experienced the act of love and devotion people that judge and scrutinize you, not because they hate you, but because they are afraid of how good you are perhaps you'll look at them differently just as you would a dog, yelping for your attention begging for your love with big trusting eyes begging for a piece of that left over pizza beca...

Abject poverty isn't here to stay!

I've been thinking a lot recently, which happens to be super weird since I'm not exactly the that kind of a person *rolling eyes*. Lately, I've been wondering if abject poverty is here to stay? I mean, is there a foreseeable end to poverty? There are millions of charities around the world, NGO's and otherwise, some are responsible for refugee's e.g UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency), some are responsible for children in poor countries eg Save the children and World vision and so much more. Yet, every year 15 million children die from malnutrition. About 24000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes, and according to my maths (calculating...)...well lets just assume that adds up to one child per second. This figure is astonishing. For someone like me, this mathematical figure make no difference whatsoever, until you apply it to real life, so lets try another strategy. Imagine that each time you blink a child dies, not from heart disease or cancer or malar...
