Most times i feel marriage is just a facade, two people joined together for life, sworn to cover each others tracks, bearing all pain, abuse...neglect. Sometimes i think the smarter one's are the one's that leave earlier on. This is a completely new perception stemmed from some very personal experiences in my life.
According to court documents, an Arizona father Miller stabbed his wife, Adriana, 28, his 10-year-old daughter, Valeria and 4-year-old son, Brian at their home. Miller told police that when his children woke up to their mother’s screams, he stabbed them, too. Adriana and Valeria died, but the 4-year-old survived despite being stabbed 11 times. Miller said he punched Brian in the face and stabbed him the most “because he loved him the most.” (Hmmm... the most efficient and productive way of displaying affection!!!)
The man told authorities that he sang Eminem's lyrics, "Here comes Satan. I'm the anti-Christ. I'm going to kill you," as he stabbed his family. Those are supposedly the lyrics from an Eminem song that Michael Miller says he screamed to his wife before stabbing her and his daughter to death, but I've never heard those lyrics. A quick search for them turns up nothing even remotely close to an Eminem song. This man is obviously mentally disturbed, i mean his plea in court was that Eminem was to be blamed for the death of his family...What The Hell!!!
On the other hand, this man here killed 6 members of his family. Why you may ask...well,he and his wife were fired from their jobs, so he killed all six family members before turning the gun on himself. He felt it better to end their lives; and why leave their children in someone else's hands when he could just kill them??? What an arrogant brute. I know there are lots of people in countries such as Nigeria, who go to the University and study medicine, yet, have no jobs. They don't go around killing themselves and their families, they beg on the streets so they can carter for them. However, this man felt he was God, thus, he kills his children so no one else will have them.
Marriage gets better for some people. For instance, you know the Woods...well..just Mrs Woods then. I'm not going to pick on Tiger or anything.... well alright, just a little. Everyone else is doing this anyway. Below are the "7 Unfortunate Tiger Woods slogan", i just cannot seem to get over them, enjoy:
1) The best a man can get (well in this case...the best a woman can get, hahhahaha)
2) Just do it, (hahhahaha!!!)
3) What are you made of?
4) Being a winner takes handwork and sweat(...i can imagine.)
5) Its in Tiger, its in you (I hope not!).
6) Go on, be a Tiger
7) Turning heads.
This is hilarious, there is no way I'll talk about the Woods without bringing this up.
However, Elin Wood is reported to receive an estimated "$20 million after 10 years of marriage, with a contract that could net her $75 million if she stays his wife for seven more years - and keeps a vow of silence thereafter."-When i read this i just thought is this what marriage has been reduced to...making appearances, buying a woman that'll have children for you, stick by you (publicly of course) for 10 years and afterwards what? Divorce and never be able to talk about the past 10 years of your life. What happens to love and commitment?
"Oh, how we danced on the night we were wed
We vowed our true love though a word wasn't said
The world was in bloom, there were stars in the skies
Except for the few that were there in your eyes.
The night seemed to fade into blossoming dawn
The sun shone anew but the dance lingered on
Could we but relive that sweet moment sublime
We'd find that our love is unaltered by time."
Lyrics to "The Anniversary Waltz"
What we see in the movies, books and poems are so alluring that i guess many of us lose sight of what marriage is all about. Not that I'm the right person to say this, but i believe marriage is not a business transaction, its the coming together of two hearts, for the sole purpose of working together to achieve a harmonious existence, no matter how cliche that might seem.
