Children do not discriminate

On my home today
sat a little cutie in his pram
his glorious smile made his little chubby face glow
the object of his attention...
an old Chinese lady
dressed in a long, over sized black coat
hunched in a sitting position, she looked a tad overweight for her age
her hair seemed to have lost its original colour-black
in its place sat a mass of white silvery hair
i could have sworn her hair shone under the intense blaze of the sun
she had an old red scarf draped across her tender little frame
it looked worse for wear, managing albeit hardly to hang onto the blend of cotton and wool the material was made from
the large coat she wore looked a century older than the lady looked
the bags under her eyes were moist and so big, it was a life of its own
the wrinkles adorning her face was immense, Olay's anti-aging cream couldn't have made a significant difference
her fingers as you would imagine were thin, sore and gangrenous
but little baby chubby face didn't seem at all phased by the woman before him
he looked at her adoringly
smiled and flirted with her
he touched her face, her eyes and her hair
he made little baby noises
and she made little baby noises with him too
in his eyes, she was a beautiful, wonderful woman who made him smile like he had no care in the world
and that...
that was all that mattered to him.

Yeah I get it - I made a new hobby some months ago. Spot the Happy. It started with seeing a little boy running along a fence banging a stick on it as he went. He was in rapture, pure happiness without guile or guilt. Since then I've spotted other moments or pure happiness; people oblivious to the world because their world is caught in the moment. Nice memory snap-shots.

Double Identity

I once knew of a little girl with such big dreams and wide imagination, Everything she read she willed to being the first time she left the little town of her birth She traveled to a land far away from the troubles that ailed her family from the troubles that ailed her she walked on streets made of gold She traveled to countries that made her heart dance and although she’d never seen them before, in her mind they were familiar no people or race was alien to her but one day she was forced to see she was different she was forced to see her dark skin and hear her heavy accent she was forced to see her afro hair and her religion she was forced to see the shameful past that surrounded her people And although they tried to bury her in shame She destroyed their expectations and blazed a new path for herself.

Forever Love

Its almost unimaginable that a person can love you forever and ever, flaws and all. I guess I'm just not that much of an idealist. Its one of those things that sounds almost too good to be true. The love that can never be broken. The devotion that no power, no circumstance can pull apart. The world is full of divorcing couples who vowed "for better or worse" and now, cannot stand the sight of each other. The world is full of mothers who ditch their kids and run, who sexually abuse, prostitute and even murder their children. That was the real world. The world i live in. A life full of hurt, pain, disappointment, uncertainty, hatred and angst. Isn't forever love the kind of love that exists between pets and its owners, children and their parents? Its a much more simple...almost desperate kind of love. It doesn't care so much about what i look like, what my voice sounds like, it doesn't care whether i like toasted sandwich for dinner and KFC chicken for breakfast...

The lady at the counter

I am fuming with rage, anger, resentment, malice...(is there any other word to describe the fire that is threatening to erupt my very being?) I had a pretty rough day today, although this is not the reason i am this provoked. Well why should i? Why would anyone be angry if their youngest brother spends $100 from their credit card despite giving them the permission to spend $23! This matter was solved of course, however, this current state of mind is directed at Australia's retail giant Big W. Technological advancement is at its peak as we all know. In fact, it has gotten so good that I'm toying with the idea of buying me a sexy robot man if ever i become available :). Since Technology has become this unstoppable force, why is it that each time you leave a store, they ask to search your bag. This is the most humiliating aspect of shopping i must confess. I have the most horrible hand bag to look in you see, however, i just love the feeling of walking straight up to security and ...
